On Saturday Bill and I went into town to buy pressies for Violet. Total nightmare. As with most town centres in the UK, ours is depleted of decent shops, we don't even have a department store any more. And H&M have gone. Couldn't believe it. It's depressing. But we did our best and got all that we needed to get.
After that we scooted up to John Lewis and naturally had to pop into Waitrose to get a little something for lunch. Festive sandwiches all round! I have a love/hate thing with shop bought festive sandwiches. They sound fantastic but are always a little bit 'blah'. I'd much rather throw together my own Leftovers Sandwich, it knocks the socks off anything shop bought. That said, the turkey, stuffing and bacon wasn't bad at all.

Today I am waiting for a delivery. Actually, I've already had one. I saw this book in Waterstones on Saturday but had to wait until this week before buying it on Amazon. Another Royal cookbook for my collection, and a festive one at that. I love Carolyn Robb recipes, they are well written and easy to follow. Going to have an early night tonight so I can have a proper read of it.

The other delivery I'm waiting for is my Christmas pressie from Bill. We don't go in for surprises, we just ask each other what we'd like. I've already got his and need to start wrapping them up. I did the ordering for my gift from Bill yesterday, knowing it would be delivered today. Nice and simple.
