small project complete

Not going to go on about these again, but wanted to show you how the four magazines look on the wall. Not perfectly straight I'll admit, but the covers are very forgiving so I think I can get away with it. We are really pleased with how it looks, and yes, I think the plan is to carry on buying and framing these magazines and just continue until we feel we've got enough. It's a big wall, there might be quite the collection!!
Very much looking forward to the time when we can sit in the living room with it all clean and cosy, and not a single box of bathroom or Project 2 stuff sitting around.
In fact, looking forward so much to when everything is done and I can just go through the entire house and blitz it all. While the floor at the front door, the landing and stairs are all covered in plastic to protect them, the whole house feels as if it's filthy. Which it probably is, work has been going on in one way or another since the start of June. During the breaks between jobs I cleaned a lot, but then the next one started and the dust and dirt soon built up again. No point in fretting over it, but it will be so good when the house is clean and quiet again.

The carpenter is here today. I'll take an update photo at close of play. In the meantime I am in the kitchen reading, making lists, and plotting a few things.

  1. They look very stylish Sadie, very satisfying to complete one thing when all you feel as if you are camping in other bits of the house. x

  2. The framed magazines look great. I can see adding to the collection could become quite addictive. We've had the stairs carpet fitted today. It's so nice not having to watch out for stepping on carpet gripper! We are in the midst of a load of DIY as well and nothing seems to be in its right place so I know exactly how you feel. As you say, it will all be worth it in the end. xx

    1. carpet gripper is evil stuff. It will all be worth it, just hard seeing the light at the end of a very dusty and muddly tunnel sometimes isn't it?! x
