night light
In summer we removed all the fairy lights from the garden. Part of the Big Purge, part of growing up, part of having them inside and outside for the past 10 years + and them no longer feeling like a festive treat.
But Violet said she missed them, and Bill said he missed them in the dark mornings. It got me thinking and I thought why not have a light inside the greenhouse? A suitable for outdoors light. Not the easiest thing to track down as it had to be a plug in light, but eventually we found one and it arrived earlier this week. Bill put it in the greenhouse today, now it's on a timer and it looks so cosy through the darkness. Nothing more than a lightbulb under glass, but it does the trick.
As with the colour pink, I'm not done with fairy lights, it's just after so many years of having them inside the house and out in the garden all year round, it's refreshing to take them down and look forward to having them up for the festive season. This light feels cosy and grown up. It's perfect.
Bored with bathroom updates yet? Oh well, regardless of the answer, here's the latest. The plasterer has been and now walls and ceiling are done. Tomorrow the floor will go down, but I'm not showing another update next week. The schedule for next week is M/T- decorators, W - plumber/electrician, then T/F - plumber. And that's it. Done.
So I shall leave it here and wait until the room has been completely finished before showing it again, but goodness, it's been so much easier to live with than the whole kitchen experience. Compared to that this is an absolute walk in the park.

Love to see all the bits sticking up and down and out, waiting to be connected! I'm liking the splash-back walls, is it made of some sort of composite?
ReplyDeleteit's wooden panelling. I love seeing things at this stage, shows things are moving in the right direction, it'll soon be over. Yey!
DeleteThe greenhouse looks really lovely illuminated.
ReplyDeleteYour bathroom is really taking shape now. We had panelling in our bathroom at our old house, and I've been thinking of using it again here.
Thank you. Bill missed seeing the fairy lights in the morning, this is a really good alternative and looks just as nice.
DeleteI love the panelling. Trouble is now I'm thinking of where else we can have it! x
