treats & beasties
The colour isn't as bright in real life, it's a very natural looking pinky-orange. This is my new lipstick. As with everything else lately I'm making conscious decisions when it comes to make up. Apart from one purchase from February, all of the lipsticks I've bought over the past 12 months or so I have used and used and used until there is practically nothing left.
Which is how I like it.
It means I chose the right colour and it was money well spent.
The fail was the D&G liquid lipcolour. The colour was perfect but the texture was not and the clumsy applicator made it tricky to apply. I tried using a lipbrush but it was too much of a faff and I couldn't be bothered. Its difficult application and curious texture means I've barely used it, which is a shame.
Another delivery due today for something I am actively stocking up on (for a reason - not just an indulgence), can't wait to get my paws on that one.Not such a nice find yesterday was the walloping great spider dangling on the curtain. It just sat there saying 'evening' when I went up to get ready for bed. It's the time of year when we find massive spiders on a daily basis. Most times I am kind and will catch and release them outside, other times I'm less kind and get the hoover out. Which I don't like to do, but I'm not going to go to bed knowing a spider the size of my head is roaming about.
We've had a two day break from The Project which has been lovely, but work is set to continue today, with the pile of rubble and rubbish being taken away too. Then they'll be another break when nothing happens. To anyone looking on from the outside they'd assume things had ground to a halt, but no, it's just a project that has to be done in bits and pieces. Things will become apparent very suddenly at a later date, and then I can show you. Once they chaps arrive this morning I need to nip out for a while. Violet has a little day away today and tonight, and then tomorrow it's GCSE results day.

Just to say good luck to Violet with the results tomorrow - I am sure she will have done brilliantly. Lovely shade of lipstick too. The suspense over the project is....killing me!!
ReplyDeleteThank you. Fingers crossed she's done well.
DeleteI'm mean with all my teasing, but other than concrete there isn't much to show, once things really start taking shape I'll get a photo.
I'm looking forward to the project reveal! After poking the contractor again today, I finally have a date for the rendering to be done. Work will start in the middle of next month with the scaffolding being erected a few days before. I'll be very relieved when it's done, as the old stuff definitely won't survive another Winter.
ReplyDeleteI feel like a right meanie for not just saying what it is, but in all honesty to talk about it and show it now would be a bit of anti climax. Once it takes more shape then I shall.
DeleteI feel for you, I really do! Even when we want work to be done or know it has to be done, going through it is awful. As is waiting for things to start. Once it's all finished and your home is your own again it's great, but waiting and living through it, well, that is far from fun. Hope it goes smoothly and quickly for you.
