framed

Each week when I'm in Waitrose I take a look at the latest copy of The New Yorker to see what the cover is like. I haven't seen one I liked since the blue one that I bought and framed a while back, but this week I saw this one and loved it. The colours, the style, and the fact that the lady looks a little bit like me - in my head at least.

My task tomorrow is to dig out a frame for it. I took the large New Yorker poster out of the living room to hang in the kitchen. My plan had been to buy a new large poster to replace it but I haven't been able to find one. Instead I'm just going to buy copies of the magazine as and when I see covers I like, and have a cluster of those on the living room wall. Don't ask me why I have such a fondness for this particular magazine, I can't answer that, I just do. They look so good framed, and as the magazine is small and slim I frame them complete, so it becomes a little time capsule behind the glass.
Results day for GCSE's. Good luck to anyone who has a child collecting theirs. It's quite nerve wracking.
Violet is in Walberswick so wanted her results emailed over. Of course there was an issue with the school email so the email kept bouncing back, panic set in. Yesterday I walked down to school to let them know and make sure they could get the results to Violet. No one in reception, but luckily for me an English teacher then came in and she sorted things out for me. I thanked her, left, and then sent a message to Violet to tell her to relax, enjoy her seaside break and not to worry.

Bill is off to collect Violet today, they'll have lunch at The Bell before coming home. So it might be the day I have my baked potato and caviar for lunch.

  1. Brilliant idea - they are a piece of art in themselves and this picture is just how I imagine you Sadie.

    1. They really do lend themselves perfectly to being used as art. And ha, thank you for that, I wish I looked as effortlessly glamorous!

    1. They have some truly gorgeous covers, well worth getting them. I think Violet is pleased, self critical as always, but she has to be happy with them overall, she did well! Thank you for your kindness.
