about time

It took a while, but just after 5 p.m it finally rained. It was fantastic. Violet and I went outside and got soaked, to the point of feeling cold afterwards.

It's been more than two months since we had any significant rain, but unfortunately it wasn't enough. It's warm and dry again today, but at least the garden got a bit of a drenching.

The project is making good progress. I would take a photo but to be perfectly honest there isn't a great deal to see and what there is looks a total mess. Projects always start off looking grim before they start to take shape. As soon as things start coming together I will take pics - if anyone's interested. It's interesting to us as it's something we've wanted to do for a while, but I doubt if it's especially interesting to anyone else. And summer is always such a quiet time for blogging it sometimes feels pointless taking time to write. I often take summer breaks and I'm thinking about taking one now.
My blogging has been somewhat sporadic this year to say the least, but I have had reasons. Summer is the ideal time to take a break, though I am still enjoying it. While I'm enjoying writing I'll continue, if I do go quiet for a while it's just that I've paused for a short time. That said, the blog is where I want it to be, it's taken a couple of years to reduce it in every way, and I feel that I've gone in the right direction for me. Probably doesn't make sense to anyone reading this, but it makes sense to me.

  1. Very unusually for 'up North' we've had no rain at all. Thankfully we're not on 'water watch' in our area so we can probably manage without any for a while longer, but I'd love a good downpour to clear the air. Good to hear your new project has started, hope it all goes to plan. Blogging is very fluid isn't it. What was relevant 10 years ago most likely isn't relevant now and blogging can naturally reflect this in what we write and how we write. x
