scrummy

For a while I've been craving a charcuterie board of some kind. It's meat free so Violet could enjoy it too, not that she did. She has a friend round today and they had McDonalds for lunch, so Bill and I enjoyed grazing on this plate of goodies.
Definitely something I plan on making again.

The tiler has been today. He's actually a gas engineer but used to be a tiler so still does it when asked. Turns out it was lucky we had him to do it, he said to me he could smell gas around the oven, where he'd been tiling. He did a test and he was right, there was a leak. I went into mild panic, but he said not to worry and he could fix it. Which he did. Very grateful for that. What good luck though, to have someone qualified by sheer chance and for him to detect the problem. He'll be back on Monday to do the grouting so after that I can finally show the end result. At last!

  1. The charcuterie board looks delicious. At first glance I did wonder why you were going to eat it with chopsticks then I realised they're bread sticks. DOH! That was very lucky to have a gas engineer on hand. We've had a couple of problems with gas over the years, one a minor leak like yourself, the other was when I asked Mark to hang a picture and he managed to knock a nail right into a gas pipe! Looking forward to seeing the photos. xx

    1. ha! they do look like chopsticks. I'm plotting an autumnal version of a charcuterie board and think it'll be even better than a summer one.

Yes, really lucky. I was literally having a meltdown when the bloke looked at me and calmly said 'it's ok, nothing will explode' and then explained the scientific reason as to why it was still safe, especially as he could sort it. Stupid films with lots of gas explosions! That's why I worried.

Oh. nailing into a gas pipe is not good! xx
