strawberries & autumn

The nicest thing about summer has to be abundance of fruit. For a while I've been craving Eton mess, so this week I made sure to buy strawberries, raspberries, and some ready made meringues. I know they aren't hard to make, but it's so much nicer to have them made for you.

Feeling a little calmer since my last post. I'm not taking it down as it's documenting something that needs documenting, but I didn't want it to be the first thing seen when anyone visited here. Said it many times before, but I have always tried to keep my blog a happy place, for anyone visiting and for me when writing. Just life isn't always sunshine and roses and there are times when you just HAVE to vent. It's a case of ignore, ignore, ignore, but make sure every little thing is noted and/or recorded. That women is not an important part of my life, it's a shame I have to acknowledge the idiot in any way.

When I remember I'm still making You Tube videos. They tend to be pretty much the same thing each time, so nothing of great interest. I gain a follower then I lose a couple, but it's fine with me. I am not exactly regular with my posting and that's something you have to be if you want to seriously grow your channel, and the videos are short and quite dull. I am the first to admit that I am a boring, ordinary person. Even though I'm not exactly selling myself here, I still like having the channel and am starting to really enjoy the editing process.

The next video I have planned is to show the making of an autumn wreath. I'm getting ahead of myself rather than wishing time away. When in The Range recently to gather bits and pieces for the wreath, I noticed they had a lot of autumnal décor out already. Including some wreaths. I took a look but they weren't really my thing. Lots of bold browns and bright oranges, along with a scattering of plastic orange pumpkins. Price wise they were quite reasonable, from £22 - £25. I still wanted to make my own, in muted autumnal shades and with a willow base. Honestly, it didn't save money, I still spent around the same amount as a ready made wreath, but I like that it's going to look the way I want it to look, with not a single plastic orange pumpkin in sight.
While I was planning ahead I ordered some more of the red velvet ribbon that I used last Christmas. It's just nice to feel organised and know that when I want to start making bits and pieces I have everything all ready to be used.

  1. Never dull Sadie! A woman after my own heart, someone who knows how to be happy with the things of true value; security, health, a nice place to live, a loving family, small treats. I've always found your posts make me feel secure (perhaps because I like home and being content?) x
