October
It's October. Goodness. September certainly zipped by quickly.
Bill and Violet have gone off to Walberswick to see Bill's sister, I happen to know they have had lunch at The Bell, lucky things.
It's ok, I've had a great lunch myself, finally making something I've been wanting to make all week but couldn't until I'd been shopping. Such a simple recipe and so good, I'll share it in another post.
I'm waiting for someone to turn up to look at the toilet in Bill's shower room, which has decided to start leaking. Annoying.
The plumber was still here yesterday, but had to leave early in the afternoon for a Health & Safety meeting, or he would have taken a look. But in fairness he was here to deal with the bathroom, not be at our beck and call for any little plumbing emergency. He won't be here at all next week, we have the carpenter, plasterer and floorer taking care of their side of things.
So I'm waiting for the bloke to turn up some time this afternoon. While I wait I've washed floors, had lunch, done a massive glut of laundry and ironing after not doing any at all yesterday, and just pottered about. Something arrived yesterday. A new coat. And yes, I did get rid of 3 million of the things a few months ago, but I have my reasons for wanting a new one.
Firstly, I do like choice. And I'm thinking it's probably time to get rid of my pink coat, which I have loved and worn fsince 2014! The wear and tear is showing, and once pale pink takes on that grimy hue it is impossible to get rid of. I don't want to wear the same coat every day, I choose it to suit my mood and/or outfit. Each year I look at camel coloured coats and each year I manage to find one I like far too late, my size sold out, never to return.
One time I made a mistake in buying something very much along these lines from Boohoo.com, but it was awful. Very cheap and nasty close up, which I think I knew when I ordered it, I was being hopeful. I should have returned it, but I didn't. Total waste of money.
On Wednesday I spotted this one which is very much in my style. I cannot have any 'buttony' coats (both Violet and I have some kind of button phobia), I prefer them to pull around and tie with a belt, though I tend to keep them open as tying them makes me look like a sack of potatoes. Anyway. This arrived yesterday, it's my bd present but I'm allowed to have it a little early. So it's New Month, New Coat. Finally, I have a camel coat in the style I love.

A camel coat is one of those classic pieces I always think 'proper' grown ups have in their wardrobe which is why I've probably not got one lol. Your new coat looks very stylish and I love the tie belt. x
ReplyDeleteyes! Totally agree, it is a classic and proper grown up thing to have. I am pleased with it, even if I look like a great lumpy lump with it tied around me. ha ha! x
