A few straggly looking sunflowers caught my eye in the front garden, I cut them and brought them inside.
It's another noisy day, bathroom wise, but Violet was here first thing so we were able to leave her to look after Henry cat while we went off to do the weekly shop.
Earlier in the week when I talked about the New Yorker magazine, I took a look on their Instagram page.
There I spotted the cover from the 19th September, and as we obviously get them here a little later than when they're published in America, I worked out that it would be the edition available this week. I really hoped they'd have it in Waitrose, but usually when you want something specific you can guarantee they don't have it. But I was in luck, I scoured the shelves and found what I was looking for. This cover is fantastic. It reminds me of the opening credits from 'Fame', which along with 'Moonlighting' was a favourite show of mine back in the 80's.
While I want to say that I'll leave it there, no need to buy any more, I think I'll give myself permission to buy any in the future that I like. I'm sure I've said it already, but as the magazine is so thin I frame it complete, so it's like a time capsule.
It might be that we end up with an entire wall of framed New Yorkers, because I can guarantee if I see a festive one I'm going to get that, and that would mean I'd have to buy another to even up the numbers.

Gosh, Fame, I loved it and didn't care who knew I loved it! Such a feel good show. x
ReplyDeleteYey, a fellow Fame fan! I still get chills when I hear the theme tune, I loved that show. x
DeleteCrikey. You mentioning Fame has brought back memories. I absolutely loved it. While the energy prices are nothing to laugh about, maybe we'll see a resurgence of leg warmers to keep us warm. I hope so! x
ReplyDeleteha! I loved my old leg warmers back in the day. I used to wear them with my all in one leotard when I did modern dance. Good times.
DeleteFame was excellent. I wish they'd show it again. Sometimes I find the odd snippet on You Tube, but I'd love to see them shown in full on TV. x
